Personality:
Blake before coming "Death" was described as a self confident joker and slacker not doing anything that required him to do extra work or putting extra effort into something, he only did what he had to do and only to the minimum amount and was somewhat famous for his mid combat banter. Once he became "Death" he lost the self confident joker attitude (except for his in combat banter which seemed to stay with him) and it was replaced by a cold hearted, silent and ruthless killing machine showing no remorse or mercy. After the hallucinations of the Devil on the island on he Grand Line it became imprinted on him and became a voice of reason or a corrupted consonance he heard in his head (similar to schizophrenia) influencing everything he does and causes the imaginary names to appear on the devil's list of who he is to kill.
Likes:

1. Funerals: He likes to attend random peoples funerals.
   
2. Solitude: He enjoy being Working solo to avoid other peoples stupidity.
   
3. Happy Fun Time: By happy fun time Blake means hacky slash time which means murder, lots and lots of murder.

1. Happy people: Blake doesn't like when people are happier than him.
   
2. Fat people/Glutton: He feels like people that eat to much are greedy and should therefore die!!!
   
3. The World Government: He doesn't like people with more power then him and not using it to its full potential.

Behavior/Habits:
When doing nothing or board he will begin to sharpen his scythe and make any repairs to it regardless of the location. Blake never shuts up and this is no exception for when he is fighting when fighting he will constantly talk to his opponent, bystanders and crew mates. He acts and makes roughly about sixty seven per cent of his choices purely on his instinct.  When somebody tries to explain something he doesn't understand to him, he will instantly call it a mystery. He will never take off the skull mask that covers his face in front of people due to his face being slightly deformed after getting scared numerous of times.[/list]
History:
In his late teenage years he served as a marine, while with them he was considered a prodigy scythe wilder but was notorious as he did not respect the chain of command disobeying orders and making his own choices instead. He found the Moku Moku no Mi (Smoke-Smoke devil fruit) in side the ruin of a temple on an island while he was serving as a body guard along with other marines for a navigator who was mapping out a newly discovered island on the grand line. The temple was fulled with an exotic plant that gave off a scent and fumes that caused him to begin to hallucinate. His hallucination was of him being killed and then being resurrected by the devil, the devil then began to guide him through the temple offering him a deal, in return for Blake's soul he would keep Blake alive with the catch that he also had to become the devil's personal assassin other wise known as Death and too kill who ever's name appeared on his list (a blank scroll he found in the temple). To accept the deal Blake had to eat a black apple (Moku Moku no Mi) which he did, once it was consumed he exploded into an eruption of black smoke and as he exited the temple the cloud of black smoke trailed from his body. He then killed every marine he arrived with on the island as they appeared on his list, before turning into smoke and letting himself be carried away on the wind to a new location to carry out he "Devil's" list.
