The appearance:

Equipment Significance: A Sword with both offensive and defensive purposes, not his favored choice for fighting, but a necessary thing to have for when fighting people with weapons.
Equipment Strength:
-Good Lethal weapon, with a cutlass being a more maneuverable of its classes, makes it easy to do versatile and improvised moves.
-Curved swords have the ability to direct the strain slightly away from the blade, making it harder to simply bash out of a hand or break, if handled correctly.
-Having a Sword allows you to have longer reach, with your attacks.
Equipment Weaknesses:
-It can't do structural damage very well, -5 damage against structures.
-Cutlass has handle that’s too short for you to be able to take advantage of holding it in two hands properly. Meaning, when slashing directly against someone wielding a blade in two hands, he's the one with most chance of either losing the clash or worse loosing grip of the sword.
-Worse at damaging heavy armor, -5 damage against heavy armor.
-Most Swords has an advantage when thrusting the blade to maximize its piercing qualities, a Cutlass aren't able to do that, as well as a regular sword.
